Article 6 of the California Constitution establishes the state's judicial system. The system is comprised of the Supreme Court, the courts of appeal and the superior courts.
The Constitution also provides for agencies concerned with judicial administration including the Judicial Council, Commission on Judicial Appointments, and the Commission on Judicial Performance. The Habeas Corpus Resource Center, a statutorily created judicial agency, also assists the courts.
