Your membership supports the mission of the society to recover, preserve, and promote the legal and judicial history of the state of California. This income provides for publications, programs, projects and grants. All members receive the CSCHS Newsletter and invitations to society-sponsored receptions and events. Judicial level or higher additionally receive as a membership benefit California Legal History -- the Society’s scholarly journal (formerly the CSCHS Yearbook) --  and other publications offered by the Society.

CSCHS Membership Levels



Benefactor:
$2,500 and above

Founder:
$1,000-$2,499 >

Founder level recommended minimum level for firms with 50 or more attorneys.
Steward:
$750-$999

Sponsor:
$500-$749 >

Sponsor level recommended minimum level for firms with 10 or fewer attorneys.
Grantor:
$250-$499

Sustaining:
$100-$249 >

Sustaining level recommended minimum level for attorneys in private practice.
Judicial:
$50-$99 >

Judicial level recommended minimum level for public sector professionals, judiciary, educators, and libraries.
Associate:
below $50 >

The Associate level is mainly for those that join through the check-off on the annual State Bar of California Fee Statement. Associate members who wish to upgrade to the Judicial membership level or higher will have their fee statement donation credited towards the upgrade. Associate level members receive an electronic mail version of CSCHS Newsletter.
