Conference on the Supreme Court of California
A conference on the Supreme Court of California is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Clark Kerr Conference Center at the University of California, Berkeley. This conference will provide a unique forum for judges, government officials, scholars, and practitioners to discuss the work of the court and to learn more about legal issues affecting the judicial system in California. The Conference will be followed by a reception which will be co-sponsored by the California Supreme Court Historical Society. For more information go to:

Membership
renewals and upgrades are now being accepted.
Associate members who wish to upgrade to the Judicial
membership level or higher will have their fee
statement donation credited towards the upgrade.
The additional benefits will begin immediately

Bar Biannual Conference in Anaheim

p.m.: Roger Warren, past President of
the National Center for State Courts, joins
panelists Professor Lawrence M. Friedman,
Honorable Terry B. Friedman, Professor Joseph
R. Grodin, and Prof. Martin Shapiro to examine
the history and development of contested
and retention elections for State Supreme
Court, Courts of Appeal, and Trial Courts
in California. This is a California
Bench Bar Biannual Conference featured presentation
for judges and lawyers. The panel qualifies
for 2 hours of MCLE credit. It
is Program 167 CBBC. For more

September 29, 2007, 4:30-6:00 p.m.: Following
the panel, there will be a Society Members’ reception. Attendees
are invited to meet and mingle with panelists,
justices of the Supreme Court and Society
